Second Surprise Phone Call!

Tonight I received a phone call from Anthony at 8:45 PM. I got to talk to him for 10 minutes, and though it was a short conversation, I have never been happier to hear his voice. He told me that he switched from the Red phase of basic training to the White phase last night. Hopefully he will also be able to call home every Sunday, depending on how the 3rd platoon does that week. He sounds great, and was happy that he was one of about 10 people to pass his PT test yesterday. I am so incredibly proud of my husband. We must have said I miss you, and I love you nearly50 times or more. He told me that his platoon's mascot is a Spartan, so I'm going to watch the movie 300 tomorrow night. I am so glad to hear from him, and I can't wait to see him again. He said that he was going to buy me a great gift on family day because I deserve the best, and near the end I got choked up and started crying as we said our goodbyes. I miss him so much, and can't wait to hear the sound of his voice again. Here's to hoping I get another phone call next week! Hearing from him was the highlight of my week, and I hope I get to feel this way every week until graduation. It has made all of my waiting seem a little more legit, and gives me hope for the future. I am proud of my soldier, and I look forward to his return.
